Arsenal To Go After Ajax Midfielder Christian Eriksen

02 August 2013 - 20:19

Ajax playmaker Christian Eriksen has been turning quite a few heads with his impressive performance for the Eredevisie outfit. The latest name added to the list of his admirers is that of Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, who is planning to go after the creative midfielder.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • It has been reported that the manager has stepped up interest in Eriksen after seemingly losing out Brazil international, Bernard, to Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 21-year-old has helped Ajax to three back-to-back Eredivisie titles and is now looking to move ahead. He has been monitored by Arsenal’s rival club Liverpool and AC Milan, with the latter already having offered him a four-year-deal, which has yet to be agreed on.

Newly developed interest from Arsenal could instigate the other suitors to act fast in their pursuit of the talented Danish international. Eriksen has scored 23 goals and provided 40 assists in the last three campaigns

Ajax values Eriksen at around £16 million, which should not be a problem for Wenger, given all the resources he has his hands on this summer.
