Pepe In Talks With Real Madrid

04 August 2013 - 16:09

Real Madrid’s centre-back Pepe played coy about his future at the Liga giants. He revealed that he is in contact with club president Florentino Perez but stressed that he is happy to continue his run with the club.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Pepe joined the Spanish outfit from Porto in 2007 and has been linked with moves to the likes of Manchester City.

The Portuguese international has not ruled out the possibility of a move away from los Blancos but he said that he is discussing his future with the club’s official.

"I'm a professional," he said in Los Angeles.

"They left a lot of things at the end of last season but I have a contract to fulfill.

"I'm talking to the president of Madrid [Florentino Perez] and my representatives to see what will happen."

Pepe has tasted glory with the Liga giants in form of two La Liga titles and a Copa del ray. He stressed his fondness for the club and his fans but did not dismiss the possibility of a club exit this summer.

"I have a contract, I love the club and I have great affection for the people," he said when quizzed about a move away from Real.
