Wigan boss Chris Hutchings has given a huge boost to the club by announcing that England international striker Emile Heskey could return from injury within two weeks.
Heskey is recovering from a metatarsal fracture, which he picked against Fulham on September 15. He then missed Englandâs crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers against Estonia and Russia.
Three Lions boss Steve McClaren will be hoping the former Liverpool player recovers in time for the final qualifier against Croatia later this month.
âEmile got the all-clear to start jogging on Tuesday after seeing a specialist, so itâs a matter of how much he can do now without over-extending himself,â said Hutchings.
âHe has a general fitness regime that he needs to go through now, so we are looking at him being ready in about two weeks. Itâs a day-to-day thing because we donât want any problems.â
