Premier League side Liverpool are set to join the race to sign Saint Etienne defender Faouzi Ghoulam, according to the Daily Star.

Reports in Italy had earlier suggested that the talented defender had agreed personal terms with Serie A minnows Torino after a transfer bid was successfully accepted, but a eleventh hour bid from the Reds could bring about a bidding war between both sides for the talented left-back.<br /><br />However Torino&rsquo;s bid for Ghoulam has reportedly hit the buffers in recent days providing Liverpool a chance to make a move for the player.<br /><br />The highly-rated defender made his international debut for Algeria in a World Cup qualifier against Benin and his status as a national team player as well as performances in France last summer has attracted interest from across Europe.<br /><br />
