La liga side Valencia have confirmed the signing of Real Zaragoza striker Helder Postiga as a replacement for Roberto Soldado who recently left the Mestalla for Tottenham Hotspurs.
The 31 year old Portugal international joined Valencia on a two year deal for a reported fee of €3 million.
Postiga, who scored 14 goals for Zaragoza last season, could not help his side stay up in the Primera division and was eyed by Miroslav Djukic as a potential replacement for Soldado who ended last season with 25 goals.
However, the former Tottenham striker refused to drawn into the discussion about being effectively the Spain international's replacement at the club.
"I'm not here to replace anyone," he said.
"Roberto was an important player for this team, just like many other players were, and I've come here to help the team and contribute as much as I can," he is quoted as saying by rtve.com.
