Tottenham could make a surprise move for former West Ham forward Carlton Cole. The player reportedly took part in a game for Spurs this week behind closed doors.

Spurs are looking for a new striker to bolster their squad for the coming season after reports that Jermain Defoe could leave White Hart Lane.



Cole is available on a free transfer and would be used mainly as a backup for Roberto Soldado, Spurs' new first choice striker.
