Ajax confirm bid for Toby Alderweireld

Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax Amsterdam have confirmed that they have received a transfer offer for defender Toby Alderweireld.

The Belgian International has been linked with the likes of Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur this summer,ever since rejecting a switch to Premier League minnows Norwich City.<br /><br />Ajax's Director of Football Marc Overmars refused to reveal the club's identity, but did admit that a deal was likely to be agreed between the two parties.<br /><br />Overmars told De Telegraaf : "We have received an offer.<br />

"We won't give any names as we are still in talks.<br /><br />"But, just like Norwich City earlier, I expect we can work out a deal with this club."<br /><br />
