Arsenal set to make a move for Atsuto Uchida?

14 August 2013 - 14:21

Arsenal are eyeing a move for Schalke right-back Atsuto Uchida to provide the defensive cover this summer.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The talented Japanese defender is considered to be a long-term replacement for Bacary Sagna.

Reports in England suggest Arsenal have made an enquiry with the Bundesliga outfit over the 25-year-old recently.

The Gunners boss is looking for a right-back who would provide challenge to Carl Jenkinson for the first team slot, if Sagna is to leave in the near future.

Bacary Sagna has entered the final year of his contract and can depart the Emirates side on a free at the end of the current season if there is no formal agreement over a contract extension.
