Liverpool manager says Luis Suarez won't 'sabotage' good pre-season work

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has told reporters that the on/off transfer of Luis Suarez will not sabotage the good work put in by his players this summer. A busy transfer window at Anfield has seen Suarez persistently linked with a move to rivals Arsenal.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • However, Brendan Rodgers has told his players to remain focused and continue their good work into the new season. Liverpool host Stoke City this weekend in their first Premier League game of the season.

"There's too much good work gone on here for it to be overtaken by anything else," said Rodgers.

"The players have worked so hard, their concentration has been brilliant and we are all very determined this year. I can't let anything detract from that. Nothing can sabotage what we are trying to do. I don't really want to go on about it. It's just something we cannot afford to happen."
