Brazilian starlet Willian eager for Liverpool move

Brazilian starlet Willian eager for Liverpool move

16 August 2013 - 09:32

Shakhtar Donetsk's star mifielder Willian is hopeful that a transfer to Liverpool can be completed this summer. The Brazilian, who currently plays for Russian side Anzhi, has been told he is free to leave the club.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • Liverpool were amongst the teams monitoring Willian's situation but have yet to make an offer. Now the player has sensationally told reporters that he hopes the interest of Liverpool will turn to an offer before the transfer window closes: “There are conversations, and I am hoping in the next few days for an offer from a club like Liverpool.

“If it is Liverpool, then they are a great club. The news came as a real shock, but I’m calm about it and hoping for the best, because I’ve been told they will help the players to go, if they get a good offer.

“The players have been told in six months' time the club will move back to Makhachkala [Anzhi currently play their home games in Moscow], they will bring in more Russian players and the foreign players can go, if they get the right offers.

“It’s not true that we will be allowed to leave for nothing. But the owner has said if he gets an offer close to what he paid for the players, then they can go.

“So I am hoping there will be something from Liverpool, because England has a league that I’ve dreamed of playing in.”
