Ryo Miyaichi set to stay at Arsenal

17 August 2013 - 00:21

Arsenal's Japenese midfielder Ryo Miyaichi is set to stay at the Emirates for the upcoming season.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Japanese winger has been strongly linked with a switch away from the North London club due to the lack of first team opportunities. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that he is not prepared to slash players from his squad anymore and will not let the talented Japenese starlet leave the Emirates.

When asked about Miyaichi's imminent departure, Wenger said : "No, not at the moment, He is injured.

"He should come back into full training next week, and at the moment we are not on the way to give more players out.

"If you want to exist at the top level, you need to be consistently fit. That is the next step for Ryo, to be every day in training and show how good he is.

"Usually the body stabilises around 21 and adapts to the sport or not, so it is a vital age for him now."
