According to speculation coming out of France, Arsenal are edging closer to the signing of Sébastien Corchia from French Ligue 1 club Sochaux-Montbéliard.
The 22-year-old was linked with a move to the Emirates earlier this summer as the highly rated defender was eyed upon by the Arsenal scouts, but nothing evolved from the speculation.Â
The Gunners are again said to be interested in acquiring the player's services as the North London outfit are yet to sign to make a commendable signing this summer. The talented French right-back is seen as a long term alternative to Bacary Sagna, who is yet to extend his contract at the Emirates.
Sébastien Corchia could be the perfect player to provide competition to Carl Jenkinson who is said to be groomed as a successor to Bacary Sagna.
Corchia has made 65 league appearances for the French Ligue 1 side so far.Â
