Alexander Buttner has been given permission to speak to Turkish side Besiktas after Manchester United accepted a 4 million Euro bid for the left back. The defender is currently playing second choice to Patrice Evra as the left sided defender at Old Trafford.
Buttner is ready to continue fighting for his place at United but his club have decided to let the player leave.
“During the match against Sevilla in the past weekend, interest was expressed,” said Buttner's agent.
“He put in a good performance. There was interest from Benfica to sign a defender, but that news is already history.
“I am currently negotiating with Besiktas, but with Benfica? No. Benfica showed interest and then gave up.”
