Everton eye James McCarthy as Fellaini replacement

19 August 2013 - 06:31

Everton will make a move for Wigan midfielder James McCarthy as a replacement for Marouane Fellaini, who could make a move to Manchester United this summer. The Belgian midfielder has been repeatedly linked with a move to another club, but the Toffees are desperate to keep hold of their star man.

  • Arsenal handed major boost on Odegaard for Newcastle trip
  • Enzo Maresca explains why Cole Palmer didn't face Newcastle

  • With the recent form of Ross Barkley, manager Roberto Martinez could be persuaded to let Fellaini leave. Man Utd are desperate to find a new midfielder before the transfer window slams shut and have apparently turned their interest to the Belgium international.

James McCarthy is the latest player to have been linked with Everton should Fellaini be sold. The Wigan midfielder wants to quit the Latics for a return to the Premier League, but so far no club has made a firm offer for the starlet.
