Newcastle United have turned Arsenal's £10 million bid for French midfielder Yohan Cabaye after reports emerged that the Gunners are after the 27 year old's signature.
Arsene Wenger received heavy criticism after the Gunners suffered an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Sunderland in their season opener. However, the Frenchman has refused to draw blame for the defeat and has asked the players to improve their performances in the coming weeks.
Wenger has been in the look out for a new player all summer but all his transfer pursuits have failed to materialize. The club's recent interest in Cabaye was welcomes by the fans but seems to have suffered an early death after the Magpies turned the offer down.
Interest in believed to be high in the Newcastle midfielder with high spending Paris Saint Germain keeping tabs on the player. However, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is not keen to lose out on his premier midfielder so late in the transfer window after a disappointing campaign last season.
