Liverpool renew interest in Tiago Ilori

20 August 2013 - 22:15

Liverpool have reignited their interest in Portuguese defender Tiago Ilori, who they failed with a £3m pound bid for earlier this summer, but are ready to step up their efforts after Ilori refused to sign a contract extenstion with his club, Sporting Lisbon.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Ilori has played 12 games for Sporting's first team since 2011, and is capped at all youth levels for Portugal. Ilori can play as a central defender or a defensive midfielder.<br />

Brendan Rodgers may improve on his previous bid of £3m to about £5m. Liverpool's scouts were present yesterday at Sporting's game against Arouca yesterday, which Ilori didn't feature in.
