West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has contacted Benfica regarding their Paraguayan forward Oscar Cardozo. The highly rated forward has been persistently linked with a move to England in the past, and it appears that the Hammers are now in a position to complete a move for the player.

  • With Modibo Maiga currently the Hammers' only available forward, manager Sam Allardyce is under pressure to bring in a new player as soon as possible. First choice forward Andy Carroll is currently injured and Cardozo is a preferred option for the club.<br />

Having scored 105 goals in 160 games for Benfica, the striker is ready to move on. The Premier League is his preferred option after reportedly telling the Portuguese club that he is ready for a move elsewhere.
