Everton and Benfica do battle for Luca Marrone signature

Juventus' midfielder Luca Marrone has been linked with a move to Premier League side Everton and Portuguese side Benfica, with the Toffees believed to be favourites to land the 23-year-old before the transfer window slams shut.

Marrone has been on the books at Juve since 1998 as a youth player, but has been told he is free to leave the club having slipped down the pecking order at the Turin side.



Marrone has only managed to muster up 15 first team appearances since 2009, despite playing regularly for the Italian under 21 side.
