Sunderland have reportedly made an initial bid of £5m for Roma midfielder Michael Bradley, which has been rejected by the Serie A side.

  • The Black Cats are in the look out for players to bolster their midfield department, after missing out on Tom Huddlestone, who prefered a move to Hull City.

Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio was keen on acquiring the services of the talented United States International midfielder but the club's first bid of £5m was swiftly rebuffed by the Serie A outfit, who have set an asking price of £10m for the 26-year-old, as per the Daily Mail.

The Black Cats have had a dismal start to their Premier League campaign so far this season, having picked up just a point from their opening two games.
