Tottenham have decided to let young German midfielder Lewis Holtby leave White Hart Lane on loan as Spurs step up their interest in Ajax's midfielder Christian Eriksen.

  • Holtby enjoyed a run in the first team last season but has so far failed to play this season due to injury concerns and also Andre Villas-Boas' early indications that Holtby will not be a regular in the team this season.

The Germany international has been linked with a return to his homeland. It is understood that several teams are ready to make a move for Holtby, including the likes of Werder Bremen, Wolfsburg, Eintracht Frankfurt and even Holtby's former club Schalke 04.
