La Liga side Athletic Bilbao president Jose Urrutia has confirmed that the club has rejected a bid for Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera but refused to reveal the bidder.
The 24 year old has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer but it is not yet ascertained as to from where the offer had come. However, club president clearly stated that they would not allow any of their players to leave this summer unless any interested club agrees to meet the buy out price.
Speaking at a press conference, Urrutia said: "We have had an offer for Ander Herrera.
"Our club is different, it is based on sentiment. Our objective isn't to make money.
"We received the offer last night and have communicated that we will not negotiate for our players.
"For a player to go, first the player must express his desire to leave the club and pay the release clause."
