Swansea manager Michael Laudrup insists that he will sign another striker

02 September 2013 - 00:12

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has confirmed he wants to add another striker to his squad following their 2-0 victory over West Brom which gave the Swans their first points of the Premier League campaign.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The Swans manager told reporters: "We had some huge chances, a one-on-one from Wayne Routledge, crossbar shot from Pablo (Hernandez) and at that stage you think, 'phew we're dominating, we're creating chances but we haven't scored the second and we have seen that before.

"Maybe one chance, one counter, one set piece and they equalise it and you never know what happens in the last 10 minutes. Fortunately when we scored the second one it was all over.

"I always said we are looking for one more striker with different characteristics from (Wilfried) Bony and Michu so we will add one tomorrow. Many forwards have been linked with our club, five, six or seven and one of them will join us but not more than one."

However, Laudrup denied to be drawn to a conclusion on the signing of Liverpool forward Fabio Borini on loan from Liverpool.

Borini had a loan stint with The Swans during the 2011 Championship season, in which he notched up 6 goals in 12 appearances.
