Wenger delighted to have Ozil at Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told reporters that the signing of Mesut Ozil is a deal that he has been thinking about for some time and admits that Ozil has all of the skills and attributes to be a star at the Emirates.

Arsenal paid&nbsp;&pound;42.5 million for Ozil - smashing their own transfer record by a reported&nbsp;&pound;27million - to secure the attacking midfielder's coveted signing.<br />

Arsene Wenger spent many hours on the phone to Real Madrid club representatives and Ozil himself, hoping to prove the the German international that the Emirates is the right place to be.<br />

&ldquo;He is a great player, with proven quality at both club and international level,&rdquo; Wenger said. &ldquo;We have watched and admired him for some time as he has all the attributes I look for in an Arsenal player.&rdquo;
