Brondby striker happy to see Crystal Palace bid rejected

03 September 2013 - 15:48

Brondby hitman Simon Makienok has revealed that he is not disappointed with the club's decision to turn down a late bid from Crystal Palace for his signature.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Danish striker, who stands at a height of 6"7', had an offer from Terek Grozny accepted by the club earlier this summer only for him to turn down the chance to ply his trade in Russia.

However, the giant forward insists that he completely understands his club's stance to turn down a late offer but will be considering his options in January.

"When it comes so late, I'm not really disappointed. So I can understand Brondby," Makienok told politiken.dk.

"If it had been earlier, obviously it would have been a different matter, as it could definitely be a good option.

"When it comes so late, I think it's fair.

"I talked to my agent about things, it was probably not in this window and then we take another step towards winter.

"When the right time and the right club comes, I will be ready."
