David Luiz rejected Barcelona transfer

Chelsea centre-back David Luiz has insisted that he rejected advances from La Liga outfit Barcelona during the summer transfer window.<br /><br />The talented Brazilian defender was reportedly considered as a target for the Catalan club for much of the summer transfer window and he has now expressed that an official offer was made for his services.

&nbsp;Luiz told Gazeta Esportiva : There was an official offer [from Barcelona], but I decided to stay at Chelsea.<br />

"I am happy to play for a big club and be in the national team to represent my country."<br /><br />Luiz made a move to Stamford Bridge from Primeira Liga side Benfica during the winter transfer window in 2011.
