Arsenal closing in on Romania international Marica?

<strong>Recent reports emerging in the Romanian media has suggested that striker Ciprian Marica is in talks with Arsenal over a possible move to the English capital.</strong>

The 27 year old struggled to find a regular place at the Veltins Arena and only managed 34 appearances during his stay. However, he was allowed to leave the club this summer after Schalke decided not to renew his contract.<br />

Despite being linked with a move to a host of clubs this summer, Marica remains a free agent. His agent Becali, who also works for Vlad Chiriches, revealed that a move to Emirates is in the offing.<br />

"Marica is a really great striker who has already got experience in western European football and so it's natural that big clubs are eyeing his career," his agent Ioan Becali said.<br />

"He's close to joining Arsenal, but we have to wait for the next week."
