Mexico sack manager Jose Manuel de la Torre

The Mexican Football Federation have relieved Jose Manuel de la Torre from his duties as head coach of the national team.

The decision came about after Mexico's defeat to Honduras, which has seen La Verde drop out of the automatic contention for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

  • Luis Fernando Tena has been named as the successor to 'Chepo' and he will take charge control of the Mexican national team when they face the USA on Tuesday night. 



    Mexico would require a win in their next encounter, inorder to have their fate in their own hands to reach the World Cup next year.
