Andre-Villas Boas : 'Gylfi Sigurdsson is a big fighter'

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas was highly impressed by the performance of Gylfi Sigurdsson who made his comeback firing Spurs to a 2-0 win over Norwich City at White Hart Lane.

  • A brace from the Icelandic International secured a win for Spurs in a game the North London outfit bossed proceedings from start to finish.  Villas-Boas paid tribute to his midfielder.<br />

    Villas-Boas told Sky Sports: <em>"Sigurdsson is a big fighter in this squad, always hoping for his opportunity to arrive. "When it does arrive, he puts on performances like this. It was the same for him last season, in February and March. We saw his best level today."</em><br />

    The former Blues manager also had good things to say about the impact of new summer recruit Christian Eriksen, who on his debut provided an assist leading to the first goal. <br />

    He added saying: <em>"He really linked the game well for us in the final third today. It's easy for him to find his passes when his quality is so good,"</em>
