Downing: on his way?

Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing has said that he is likely to start looking for a new club after admitting he is unhappy at the Riverside. Boro have been in terrible form of late and Downing is reportedly looking for a swift January move, with Tottenham closely monitoring his situation.

Boro are struggling this season and the 23-year-old has also been woefully out of form.



He said: "I would love nothing more than to bring success to this club but why let these people, who get on your back, get the better of you?"



Boro boss Gareth Southgate had recently commented that the supporters should back the players and not direct their criticism towards them, while asking the fans to target him for criticism.
