Harry Redknapp: 'Emmanuel Adebayor unlikely to play in the Championship'

21 September 2013 - 00:36

QPR Harry Redknapp believes that Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor would not be willing drop down to the Championship this season, hence making a move to the Hoops improbable.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The 29-year-old striker has been training with the reserves since his return from compassionate leave and is considered as surplus to requirements at the North London club.

Redknapp, who is keen on adding another striker to the ranks in promotion-chasing Rangers outfit, has recently shown interest on Adebayor, a player whom he brought to Tottenham Hotspur on loan a couple of seasons ago.

Redknapp told reporters: "I would love Manny here but I couldn't see him dropping down to the Championship.

"You never know. If he would we'd love to have him, but it would be difficult."
