Tottenham boss calls for calm after 8 wins out of 9

25 September 2013 - 06:39

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has demanded calm from his players after Spurs recorded their eighth win in 9 games yesterday with a 4-0 drubbing of Aston Villa in the Capital One cup.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Spurs have already been tipped to push for a Premier League title challenge, but Andre Villas-Boas wants his players to focus on the job in hand and refused to get carried away.

"It was a great performance," Villas-Boas said after yesterday's win over Villa. "But it changes very quickly.

"That's the nature of the Premier League and the excitement it brings. At the moment, it's going well for us. This gives us confidence and motivation for the next game but Chelsea are a different proposition.

"It's a difficult game and everything can change dramatically. We are on a good run and hope a blip won't come."
