Martin Jol confident that he is the right man for Fulham

30 September 2013 - 08:10

Fulham manager Martin Jol is confident that he is the right man for the job at the Cottagers, thus keeping the club in the Premier League for next season. The Dutchman's side slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City at the weekend.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • Jol has come under scrutiny for a poor start to the season, but Jol is confident that he can stop the rot and guide the club to safety.

"The devil was playing with us. If you concede goals that late, it's awful,"  said Jol.

"We are very close. It's not easy to win games.

"I can appreciate fans are getting a bit nervous, or other people. If they invest money in the club, they would like to be in the top 10.

"The only risk I can see is that we will still be near the bottom at the end of the season. I never did that (took part in a relegation battle). I feel I can keep them up, but it's not about me."
