Arsenal are reportedly set to make a club-record bid of £43m for Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema.
The Gunners who have made a great start to their Premier League campaign are considered favourites to make a move for the French International.
Football agent Francois Gallardo was recently quoted saying: "A very important Premier League club is after Karim."
"This club wants the transfer to happen this winter, but if this is not possible, then next summer at the latest. The offer will be around €50m (£43m)."
Having seen Benzema claim recently that he is experiencing the most difficult time of his career at Madrid, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could finally try to lure one of his long-term targets during the January transfer window at the earliest.
