Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace have announced that Ian Holloway has resigned from his position as manager of the club.
The news became a reality after a press conference held by the Eagles at 5.30 pm on Wednesday, with Palace chairman Steve Parish revealing that the relationship was ended by mutual consent.
Holloway's position had been in doubt ever since Monday's 4-1 thumping defeat at the hands of Fulham, a result that let the club languishing in 19th place in the Premier League table with a single win so far this season.
"I'm proud to have been involved with Palace and I wouldn't want to out-wear my welcome." Holloway said.
The former Blackpool manager led the Eagles into the Premier League via a Championship playoff win over Watford last season.
