Liverpool are preparing a move for Ghanaian starlet Daniel Amartey, an 18-year-old versatile midfielder currently playing in Sweden for Djurgarden. The player burst onto the scene this year and various scouts have been monitoring his progress.

Amartey has already appeared for Ghana's under 20 international team and is expected to push for full international honours shortly. Liverpool scouts have already been present in Sweden watching the player in action.<br />

The player is comfortable playing in both midfield and defence and it is understood Brendan Rodgers wants to agree a deal in the January transfer window before other Premier League clubs take notice.
