Jenas looking for more goals

Jenas looking for more goals

15 November 2007 - 22:19

Jermaine Jenas is delighted to have got on the goals recently after grabbing two goals for Tottenham during the 4-0 win over Wigan. Jenas has also praised Berbatov and Keane.

  • Arsenal handed major boost on Odegaard for Newcastle trip
  • Enzo Maresca explains why Cole Palmer didn't face Newcastle

  • Jenas said on the club’s official website: “A lot of people say that when strikers aren’t scoring goals they aren’t playing well and perhaps that’s a fairer argument but at the same time, especially our strikers, they provide a lot as well.

“Look at the game against Wigan. Berba and Keano were involved in everything but didn’t get on the scoresheet. That obviously doesn’t mean they didn’t play well - people in the game know that’s not the case.

“For me, goals are an added bonus. My main focus is the team and everything I do is geared towards being of benefit to the team, whether that’s tracking runners back and trying to stop the opposition scoring, breaking play up, creating chances – anything I can do for the team and helps us win games is the most important thing.

“Goals are a bonus and if they are there, I’ll try to snap them up.”
