Italian giants Fiorentina and Inter Milan are keen on acquiring the services of out-of-favour Southampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez, during the January transfer window.
The Uruguayan International, who joined the Saints from Italian club Bologna for a club-record fee of £12m during the 2012 summer transfer window, has had a disappointing time on the South Coast, having failed to live up to his expectations.
The Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino has not considered Ramires as a first-team regular this season, as the midfielder has managed less than 100 minutes of Premier League action so far.
With the World Cup coming next summer, Ramires will be keen to make it to the Uruguayan squad and this may entice him in securing a switch to Italy, come the winter transfer window.
