Arsenal are monitoring the progress of AC Milan defender Mattia De Sciglio, according to sources in Italy.

The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has so far failed to extend the contract of French International Bacary Sagna, whose stay with the club is set to expire at the end of the season.<br />

Wenger is reportedly keen on acquire the services of De Sciglio, who he considers to be the perfect foil to provide competition to Carl Jenkinson, if Sagna is to leave the North London outfit.<br />

The 21 year old right back has 8 caps for the Italian national side to his name.
