Crystal Palace in surprise bid for Axel Ngando

Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace will make a bid for 20-year-old midfielder Axel Ngando Elessa, according to a report from France. The midfielder, who has spent the last three years at Rennes and currently plays on loan at Auxerre, is on the fringes of France's under-20 squad.

Managerless Crystal Palace have identified young Ngando as a possible signing for the January transfer window, despite a reported hefty 3.5 million Euro asking price. At Auxerre he has just forced his way into the first team at the Ligue 1 side and is expected to eventually return to his parent club Rennes at the end of the year.
