Arsenal to make bid for Alessio Cerci

19 November 2013 - 10:05

Arsenal are rumoured to have made an offer for attacking midfielder Alessio Cerci and are confident that a deal can be wrapped up before the start of next summer. The talented winger has already attracted the interest of Manchester United last year, but it appears the Gunners are in pole position to sign the Italian.

  • The 26-year-old has been playing for Torino since 2012 and has impressed having scored 16 goals in 48 games for the Serie A side. The Gunners have been linked with an 8 million Euro bid for the Italian international.

Cerci has previously spent two seasons at fellow Serie A side Fiorentina, and prior to that he spent 8 years at his boyhood club Roma but failed to make the breakthrough into the first team.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to make a bid as he searches for new attacking talent to add to his squad as there remains some doubt over the long term future of German international Lukas Podolski.
