Kevin Philips hints at Crystal Palace exit

19 November 2013 - 11:24

Crystal Palace veteran forward Kevin Phillips has admitted that he may be forced to leave the Eagles in search of regular first-team football during the January transfer window.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Phillips who scored the vital goal which earned Palace promotion to the Premier League last season, signed a one-year contract with the Eagles during the summer.

Having spent majority of his time in the Premier League on the bench, Philips has hinted that he could leave the club during the winter transfer window, as he favours to end his career with a club in the Midlands.

"I knew that I was going to spend the majority of my time on the bench this season. I suppose what's more frustrating for me at the moment is the position I play. We're doing OK in games in certain periods but we're not scoring goals," He said.

"It's frustrating but I'll continue through to January and reassess the situation again then. I could perhaps walk away from the football club or the club could release me. If that is the case I will look for somewhere local in the Midlands and try and finish my career that way."

Phillips has scored 92 Premier League goals in his career so far.
