Lucio has rejected rumours that he may be leaving Bayern Munich after the German club signed youngster Breno, believing that he will be partnering the 14m EUR defender in defence for the Bavarians.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Real Madrid have been linked with Lucio for a while, but Lucio sees no reason why he should leave.

"There’s nothing in it. I have a contract with Bayern until 2010, and my priority is to represent this team s well as I possibly can," Lucio told the club's official website.

"Obviously, the situation can change rapidly in football, and you never know what might happen a year from now.

"But my family and I are very well settled in Munich, and we have a successful team. I have no reason to consider my position."

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old has publicly apologized for being sent-off in the 3-1 defeat to Stuttgart for elbowing Swiss defender Ludovic Magnin

"Yes, I’m incredibly sorry that happened, both for my team and for Magnin, who I had absolutely no intention of hurting."
