Sunderlands loan striker Fabio Borini set for Italy move

Borini: struggling to adapt to life in England

Sunderland's loan striker Fabio Borini set for Italy move

28 November 2013 - 08:07

The agent of Liverpool's striker Fabio Borini has told reporters that his client could soon be ending his loan spell at Sunderland and returning to Italy as the likes of Inter Milan and Sampdoria consider making approaches for the striker.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Borini has so far struggled to consistently produce the results expected of him for the Black Cats and manager Gus Poyet is reportedly ready to terminate the player's loan deal as he pursues other targets.

The agent of the player has now confirmed that there are some in Italy who would like to sign the striker: "I can say that if Fabio’s situation doesn’t change in the next month, we could evaluate a return to Italy so that he can find the consistency he needs ahead of the World Cup. Borini would absolutely love to take part in that tournament. Liverpool will not let go of the player definitively, so it would still be a loan spell."

Inter Milan have already made contact with Liverpool regarding a deal to sign the talented striker.
