Italian giants Napoli are reportedly monitoring the situation of Manchester City midfielder Javi Garcia, with a view of making a January bid for the player.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is keen on signing a new central midfielder during the winter transfer window and is now eyeing a January swoop for the talented Spanish International.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Citizens from Primeira Liga outfit Benfica last season for a fee of £17m has failed to prove his full worth to the club, and this has made manager Manuel Pellegrini opt for the likes of Fernandinho and Yaya Toure for the central midfield partnership.

Javi Garcia has earlier stated of his intentions of staying with the Citizens for a "long time", but the presence of a Spanish manager and several of his national teammates, could tempt the talented midfielder in making the switch to Naples during the New Year.
