Youssouf Mulumbu set for West Bromwich Albion exit?

30 November 2013 - 04:41

West Bromwich Albion defensive midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has revealed his desire to leave the Midlands club in order to play for a top club in Europe.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • Arsenal have been closing monitoring the player in recent weeks and are believed to be among those chasing the 26-year-old's signature, with the transfer window approaching closer by the day.

Mulumbu has excelled in his stint with the Baggies since his switch from French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain in 2009, and feels the time is right to make way from the club.

"[West Brom] are aware of my ambitions for the future," He quipped. "If I have the opportunity to join a more upscale club, I will.

"I owe West Brom a lot but now I would only go elsewhere to play in the Europa League or Champions League. I think it is the right time. I have progressed in my game, my game management, mentally, tactically, physically and I am ready to go to a top-four club. "

Mulumbu has 20 caps to his name for the Democratic Republic of Congo.
