Downing rejects Spurs

01 August 2007 - 11:18

Stewart Downing has revealed that Spurs have made several attempts to sign him and he has rejected all of them. Tottenham are long term admirers of the Middlesbrough winger but it appears, for the meantime, Downing is set to stay at Gareth Southgate's club.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Aliadiere and Tuncay have been signed this season and such players have indicated to Downing that there is some ambition at the club. Despite also saying he sees his long term future at a bigger club, the time is not right and Tottenham do not meet his ambitions at this stage.
