The 25-year-old Dane, who made his first start for the Gunners since March 2011, scored the opening goal in the club's 2-0 home victory against Hull City in the Premier League on Wednesday, and this brought up speculation that the player would be offered a new deal in the near future.
However, the Gunners manager was quick to state that the club have yet to resume talks with the talented striker over a new contract extension.
"At the moment we are not as far as that," Wenger said."He has the stature, he has good technical quality, he has quite good pace.
Bendtner's current contract with the Gunners expires at the end of the season.
