Everton tracking Dundee United defender John Souttar

High flying Everton are preparing a January transfer offer for Dundee United defender John Souttar.

  • The talented 17-year-old centre-back has put up a string of excellent performances for the Scottish Premier League side since the start of the season, and has caught the eye of a several Premier League clubs, with Everton considered favourites to land his signature.<br />

    According to The Mirror, Everton manager Roberto Martinez had send his chief scout Kevin Reeves to watch the young defender in action during his club's 4-1 victory over Hearts on Saturday.<br />

    Everton are also keeping an eye on Souttar's teammate Ryan Gauld, who has recently rejected a switch to England's top tier as he wants to undergo his development with the Tannadice-based outfit.
