Ryan Gauld not interested in Premier League switch

09 December 2013 - 09:20

Dundee United's star midfielder Ryan Gauld has insisted that he will not rush with his dream move to the Premier League, as he wants to continue his development with the Tannadice-based club.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The 17-year-old midfielder dubbed 'Mini Messi'  has been associated with a switch to the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Everton in recent weeks.

Ryan Gauld expressed that he would like to play in the England's top flight, when he is good enough rather than join a top club and spend his initial progress in the reserves.

"At the moment I think I need to stay at Dundee United to progress," Ryan Gauld said.

"Playing abroad would be the best culture of football for me to play in. If English Premier League clubs came calling now I would have to think what's best for me four or five years down the line.

"If I was to go down there I would have to seriously consider what my chances were of playing first-team football and if I was stuck in the reserves would I enjoy that? "

Gauld has notched up five goals and five assists in 17 appearances for the Terrors so far this season.
