West Ham chasing Diego Milito

West Ham are hopeful that a deal for Argentinian international forward Diego Milito can be agreed in the summer. The 34-year-old forward has been with his current club Inter Milan since 2009 and is out of contract in July.

  • The striker, who has long been regarded as one of the finest striking prospects in Europe, has always admitted that he would one day like to make a move to the Premier League. The misfiring Hammers are currently without a first striker after an injury to Andy Carroll earlier in the season. Sam Allardyce is believed to have already contacted Milito's agent regarding a bosman transfer next summer.

Inter Milan are known to be tempted to offer a new contract to the former Genoa, Zaragoza and Racing striker. According to reports, the Italian side are prepared to offer the player a one year extension, but that is is some way short of what Milito is requesting.

The striker has indicated that he would prefer a two year contract to stay at the San Siro, otherwise he will be looking to explore other opportunities elsewhere.

The 6 foot striker could also be allowed to leave in January, with a fee of 500,000 Euros seemingly enough to persuade his Serie A club to sell the striker.
